Everything in the Kingdom is Voice Activated
Have you ever considered the incredible power that lies within your words? As we wrap up our negativity fast, it's time to understand a profound truth: everything in the kingdom of God is voice activated. This isn't just a catchy phrase—it's a fundamental principle that can transform how we live and operate as believers.
From Negativity Fast to Positivity Feast
The negativity fast challenged us to examine not just our words, but our thoughts. Many found it difficult, experiencing slip-ups along the way. But the goal wasn't simply to remain silent when we couldn't say something positive. Instead, we're called to have a "positivity feast"—actively speaking words that build up, strengthen, and encourage others.
Ephesians 4:29 in the Passion Translation captures this beautifully: "Never let ugly or hateful words come from your mouth, but instead let your words become beautiful gifts that encourage others. Do this by speaking words of grace to them."
How God Uses His Voice to Create
Understanding the power of words begins with recognizing how God operates. Hebrews 11:3 tells us that "by faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God." He spoke, and worlds came into existence. Second Peter 3:5 reminds us that "from the beginning, the heavens and the earth were created by God's Word."
God's Word is so powerful that Psalm 138:2 says He has "exalted His Word above His very name." When we grasp this truth, we begin to understand why our words matter so much.
Who Are We as God's Children?
Before we can understand the power of our words, we must understand our identity in Christ:
We Are Heirs of God
Romans 8:17 declares we are "heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ." This means we've inherited everything that belongs to God through Jesus' death and resurrection.
We Have Access to Resurrection Power
Ephesians 1:19-20 reveals that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to us. This isn't just any power—it's the ultimate demonstration of God's might.
We Are Seated with Christ
Ephesians 2:6 tells us we're "seated with him in the heavenlies." This isn't a future hope but a present reality. Right now, you are seated beside Jesus in heavenly places.
We Are Co-Workers with God
First Corinthians 3:9 identifies us as "co-workers with God." He's calling us into partnership with Him, making us fellow laborers in His kingdom work.
We Have Been Given Authority
Luke 10:19 records Jesus saying, "I have imparted to you all my authority to trample over his kingdom... absolutely nothing will be able to harm you as you walk in his authority."
How Do We Activate God's Kingdom Through Our Words?
God activates us through His Word, and we activate His power through our words. This partnership works when we speak His words rather than our own human wisdom.
Speaking Spirit-Imparted Words
First Corinthians 2:13 explains that we "articulate these realities with the words imparted to us by the Spirit, not with the words taught by human wisdom." When we join spirit-revealed truth with spirit-revealed words, His kingdom and power become present.
Activating Prophetic Words
When God speaks prophetically over your life, those words require your participation to come to pass. You must take those words and begin to rehearse them, declare them, and speak them over your life. This activates God's Spirit to fulfill what He has spoken.
What Makes Church Different from Other Gatherings?
The difference between church and any other social gathering is the Word of God. The church lives and breathes His Word, which is "alive and powerful" (Hebrews 4:12). We don't just speak any words—we speak God's words, declare His written Word, and proclaim His spoken word over our lives and circumstances.
Why Do Our Words Have Creative Power?
Jesus said in John 6:63, "The words I speak to you are spirit and they are life." When we speak God's words, they carry the same life-giving power. As believers made in God's image, our words don't hang empty in the atmosphere—they always have an impact.
Proverbs 18:21 reminds us that "death and life are in the power of the tongue." What you say has creating power. Your words go out and accomplish, establish, or tear down.
Life Application
This week, commit to being voice activated in God's kingdom. Instead of speaking from human wisdom or emotion, choose to speak God's words over every situation you face. When you receive a prophetic word or promise from God, don't just file it away—rehearse it, declare it, and speak it over your life regularly.
Challenge yourself to make your words "beautiful gifts that encourage others" and speak words of grace into every conversation. Remember that you are seated with Christ, filled with His power, and called to be His co-worker in advancing His kingdom.
Questions for Reflection:
What prophetic words or promises has God spoken over your life that you need to begin declaring regularly?
How can you transform your daily conversations to become "beautiful gifts" that encourage others?
In what areas of your life do you need to stop speaking from human wisdom and start speaking God's words instead?
How would your life change if you truly believed you are seated with Christ and have access to resurrection power?
Discussion Guide
Summary
Pastor Mike delivered a powerful message about the voice-activated nature of God's kingdom, emphasizing that our words carry tremendous creative power when aligned with God's Word. He taught that as heirs of God, seated with Christ in heavenly places, filled with His power and authority, we are called to be co-laborers with God. The message highlighted how God uses His voice to activate us, and we use our voice to activate His power in our lives. Through speaking God's words rather than our own human wisdom, we can release the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. The sermon concluded the church's negativity fast and challenged the congregation to embrace a 'positivity feast' - speaking words that impart grace and build others up.
Intro Prayer
Heavenly Father, as we gather together in this small group, we ask that You would open our hearts and minds to receive what You want to teach us today. Help us to be receptive to Your Holy Spirit and to one another. We pray that You would speak to each person here in the way they need to hear from You. Remove any distractions or barriers that might prevent us from fully engaging with Your truth. We invite Your presence into our discussion and ask that You would use this time to draw us closer to You and to each other. In Jesus' name, Amen.
